Application Process & Interviews at John Holland

Phone interview, online assessment and face to face interview.

The hiring process took about four months for me. While it was longer than I expected, the HR team were good at contacting me about its progression and it was done in a professional manner.

The interview process was the industry standard.

The interview process was quite a good experience, though there may be a period of no contact or update, this was brief. 1. Resume submission and fill out form 2. Online assessment 3. Phone interview 4. Face to face interview 5. Police check and fitness test.

It was a typical graduate application process. There were an online assessment and questionnaire, telephone interview and face to face interview.

Apply, aptitude testing, video interview, more testing, face-to-face interview, medical, offer. Overall, this process took about 5-6 months.

Multiple stages. It was a good process however they were a bit slow on the time frames they had initially set out for response times.

The graduate application process was a bit drawn out.

Questions which usually puts the interviewee in a circumstance and asked to provide an answer and backed up with an example.

Who is your favourite superhero and why? Pro/cons of your past work experience Why do you want to join the JHG program? What is your expectation from JHG Do you like building or rail infrastructure and why? How much do you know about rail construction? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Behavioural questions

Research the company, think what your strength is and what you can provide to the company.

Would be ideal to try to get the undergraduate role or at least organize a work experience week with HR. Try to show interest in current projects.

Always use examples from previous workplaces to support your answers.

Get site experience.

Be yourself and show your passion in the industry.

The aptitude tests & screening process can be cut-throat and is arguably the most difficult stage of the application. Undertake practise exams to get an understanding of how to approach the questions (time is very restrictive).
