Pros & Cons

  • The real focus on graduates and enabling them opportunities for career progression, providing real work, and a really strong support system. I never feel like there isn't someone I can go to to ask a question or get some help. Managers, mentors and program coordinators really focus on making sure grads are supported.
  • The people across the business that you get to work with and the support network that the graduate program helps to set-up.
  • The career development opportunities! Graduates in particular are always encouraged to try different things and are frequently offered opportunities to further develop their technical and soft skillset.
  • The opportunities for personal development Engagement with leadership Meaningful work that you feel makes a difference
  • Good rotations, flexible working arrangements, good staff and development opportunities within the company, study support
  • Financial Services can be a really complex industry to understand when you first enter as a graduate, there is a steep learning curve which can be daunting at first, but the challenge is worth it.
  • Constant changes and uncertainty, lots of legacy/old systems
  • opportunities for career development

Career Prospects
There are lots of Alumni at AMP from the graduate program, and they are in so many different roles. Graduates seem to be able to have career progression within their streams, or outside stream and across the business if that's what they want.

One of the things that surprised me the most was how easily I could access managers, both within my teams and stream, and across the whole business. Everyone is very open.

One of the best views in Sydney, clean offices and most of the time able to find a seat with a spacious desk and 3 monitors

Recruitment
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, the Open Night was the best opportunity to learn more about the company, and meet people before the assessment centres which actually made the ACs really fun and engaging. It's a tough process but worth it! The recruitment team are so engaging and really make you feel like your application is important, not just a number.

Training
Graduate program training is amazing. Dedicated days where grads are developed where we have learnt both hard and soft skills e.g. VBA training, excel training etc. Also days where we have learnt working styles and how to discover what suits us best.

Very flexible - as long as you are meeting work expectations, contributing to the team and supporting where needed, it doesn't matter where you are doing your work.
